Molycop expands leaching, grinding and flotation capabilities with Process IQ

Molycop announced today that it has signed an agreement to acquire Process IQ (PIQ), a mining technology provider that provides proprietary data analysis and visualization solutions, instrumentation and advanced process control solutions.
This agreement represents an exciting and important step in Molycop’s digital transformation, as the acquisition of Process IQ complements Molycop’s MillSlicer technology platform and expands the capabilities of leaching, milling (crushing) and flotation products and services. Some of the solutions offered by PIQ include rolling mill vibration technology, cyanide measurement and advanced process control solutions.
Process IQ also provides circuit optimization consulting services through Orway IQ, a joint venture between Orway Mineral Consultants (OMC) and Process IQ. OMC is a subsidiary of Shisong.
Process IQ was founded in 2011 by Peter Strobos and Daniel van der Spuy and is based in Perth, Western Australia.
In signing the agreement, Strobes and van der Spuy stated: “The combination of Process IQ and Molycop will better serve the global mining industry. We can now offer our customers advanced digital solutions and process optimization experience to help them achieve sustainable operational efficiency.”

Molycop Digital President Darren O’Connell said the acquisition was the next step in the digital business and strengthened the company’s position in the mineral processing sector.
